A Little About Us
The Construction Project Management Students’ Association is a student-run association that represents approximately 150 BSc. Construction Project Management students at SAIT. The association has evolved from the CPM Students’ Club which was formed in the inaugural year of the BSc. CPM program. Since our formation in 2012, we have grown tremendously to now having 6 active students putting in countless extra hours each week to deliver social events, networking, career opportunities, and educational initiatives for our students. As we celebrate our 11th year representing the student body, we strive for continuous growth and to push the benchmark for what a student association can deliver to their students!
Our Mission
While the structure of the association has changed and been refined, our mission has remained consistent. The mission of the CPMSA is driven by four main cogs, which is exemplified in our logo’s gear!
COG 1: KNOWLEDGE
We fundamentally believe that some of our most important learning opportunities come from outside the classroom. We continually strive to provide our students with opportunities to learn from the best in our industry. By organizing industry presentations, we allow our students to stay on the forefront of emerging trends in the industry.
COG 2: RELATIONSHIPS
We are in an industry where one the biggest factors to success is who you know! We continually present opportunities for our students to connect and network with professionals in the industry to build lasting relationships. We want our students to hit the ground running with strong industry connections!
COG 3: ADVOCACY
The CPM field, and the construction industry as a whole, is undergoing tremendous growth. Every day we are presented with new technology and refined ways of practicing our art. We work closely with SAIT’s School of Construction to ensure that these changes are reflected in our courses. We continually advocate for improvements within the program so our students have the foundations to excel in our industry.
COG 4: COMMUNITY
We believe that some of the best memories any student has, come from outside the classroom! We want our students to feel part of a bigger community while they are here at SAIT. By providing them with opportunities to get to know fellow students through sports and social events, we can allow lasting connections to be made. Our goal is for students to leave with friendships that will continue through their professional careers!
